National Junior Honor Society /National Honor Society Guidelines

Membership Eligibility 

 1.     Prospective member must have a cumulative academic average of 90. The following courses are considered for academic average: Bible, English, History, Math, Science, and Foreign Language(NHS).

2.      Teacher evaluations must indicate that the student is above average in character,   leadership, and service.

3.      Student must present a recommendation from a non-family adult.

4.      Student must not have been suspended nor have received more than 2 detentions           in a school year.

5.      Student must maintain the same standards in order to remain an active member.

A student will be placed on probation for one semester for the following:

      1.      Academic cumulative average falls below 90.

2.      Serve 2 detentions:

3.      Failure to complete required number of community service hours:

NJHS-10 hours per semester

NHS-15 hours per semester

Cheating will result in being withdrawn from the honor society
